While it is not mandatory for dental practices in Victoria to become accredited, when the Australian Dental Association launched the Introductory Dental Practice Accreditation Scheme in July 2012 - a scheme that assesses all aspects of a dental practice against very high standards – Dr Petunia Jacob and the team at Healthy Smiles @ Mt Eliza decided to apply for accreditation and we were one of the few dental practices among the first to be accredited at that time.

We always aim to provide the best possible dental care so we were confident we would measure up well, but it was nevertheless reassuring for us, our patients and the community to know that Healthy Smiles @ Mt Eliza met the high standards for accreditation.

Our full accreditation remains valid for a period of four years during which our practice is committed to continuous self-assessment and updating against the latest advances in dental practice re-assessed against the latest standards for accreditation, we have been re accredited which lasts for four years. We are now fully accredited up until 2020!

Our highly experienced and expert team is lead by Principal Dentist, Dr Petunia Jacob. Dr Jacob has over 30 years of experience as a practising dentist and has been a highly regarded and sought after dentist in the Mount Eliza area for nearly 15 years.

At Healthy Smiles at Mount Eliza, we are passionate about what we do and we believe in helping our valued patients look after their oral health and make the most of their smiles with a choice of high quality treatments in the most appropriate and convenient way possible.

As we endeavour to bring better oral health to our community we are also focusing on dealing with dental phobia or fear of going to the dentist. We get a great sense of fulfilment in reducing this dental phobia one step at a time. It is great to see people take their oral health seriously and make six monthly dental visits a priority.

We are committed to our patients. We endeavour to see all dental emergencies on the same day and urgent appointments are scheduled for treatment as soon as possible. We allow enough time every working day for emergencies and we try and fit you in as soon as possible to relieve your pain or discomfort.
